Product tour
It starts where most teams start: the client reviewing a cut and deciding. Then the rest of one client's video, from the plan to the report, in Shotread's sample workspace. Every screen below is a capture of Shotread running with sample data: the clients, videos and numbers are made up for the sample.
Review with the client, on the frame
Your team and the client comment on the exact frame, mark a region of it, and reply in threads; internal notes stay apart from the client's. Each new version keeps its history, and notes still open on an earlier version show on the newest one. Your team compares two versions side by side, with an overlay wipe or the difference, scrubbers in step. The client opens a link, types a name if they want, and comments: no account and no password. Then they approve, approve with changes, or request changes.
Not there yet: guests and client viewers cannot compare versions, and notes a client sends by WhatsApp or email are still copied in by hand. The full list is on switching from video review tools.
What is waiting on you
Home shows what needs you today: cuts to send, approvals to give, posts that failed, and where every item stands. When you set up a workspace you say what your team mostly does. Production house mode, shown here, keeps the menu to the tools a production house uses; Show all tools brings the rest back.
Plan each client's content
Every client's posts, videos and campaigns sit on one calendar, by month, week, list or board. Research finds competitors, outliers, formats and comments in each client's niche, and a Competitor Video Autopsy reads a competitor's video scene by scene, with the frame and the line behind each finding. A paid AI run shows its estimate before it starts.
Not built yet: keyword search volume and difficulty scores. Some research tabs work with your own YouTube key. The full list is on switching from YouTube growth tools.
Make it, with every file in one place
Each piece of content is one item with its client, campaign, owner, dates, platforms, versions and review, and one next step at the top. The Library holds every file per client. Uploads go from your browser straight to storage, never through Shotread's servers. A browser editor edits by transcript, adds captions and makes the sizes each platform needs, and exports the edit to Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve formats.
Publish what was approved
A publishing queue per client, with scheduling, retries and failure alerts to the person who scheduled the post and a backup. Approval is set per client: where it is required, a post goes out only after it, and a change after approval cancels the approval.
Waits for approvals: posting to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Threads switches on when each platform approves Shotread's app; until then the queue says why a post cannot go out. X posting runs on your own X developer app and its paid X API access. The full list is on switching from social media tools.
Report to the client, with sources
Reports show where every number comes from and how fresh it is. Approving a report freezes its numbers before it goes to the client, by link or as a PDF. Each client has a portal with what waits for their decision, the approval history and every delivered file. Performance analysis says what moved together: correlation, not cause.
Waits for approvals: most outside data sources (ads, web analytics, social insights). The report builder is partly built. The full list is on switching from client reporting tools.
Campaigns and creators
Campaigns group content with goals, a timeline and a budget view. Creator campaigns give each creator tracked links and codes.
Waits for a provider: creator discovery and audience data need a licensed creator data provider, and creator payouts need a payout provider. The full list is on switching from creator marketing tools.
Time, budgets and margins next to the work
Projects, resources, time, budgets, profitability, forecast, billing and sales sit beside the work they belong to. Margins appear only where revenue is set and every logged hour has a cost rate, and each number says where it comes from.
Find your way from the tool you use
Pick the tool you used and Shotread lists what you did there, where it is in Shotread and whether it works today, in the order of the work. Move from another tool brings your data in: you check every mapping and a dry run before anything is written, and every import can be undone.
The same lists, for all 44 tools, are on this site: switching to Shotread.
