Browser extension privacy policy

Last updated:

This policy covers the Shotread research panel, the browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox published by BeyondITL Inc. for Shotread. The Shotread privacy policy covers everything else.

What the extension does

It shows public statistics, tags and a metadata check for the YouTube video or channel page you are viewing, and lets you save that page to your own Shotread research workspace. It works only with a Shotread account and an extension key you create in Shotread.

What it stores on your device

Your Shotread server address and your extension key, in the browser's extension storage (Firefox lists these under its data consent as authentication information and browsing activity). Remove the extension, or clear the fields in its options, to delete them.

What it sends, and to whom

Only to the Shotread server address you entered (normally https://app.shotread.com), and only after you allowed the extension to reach that address.

The extension sends nothing to Shotread, BeyondITL or anyone else besides your Shotread server, has no analytics or advertising code, and loads no remote code.

What it never does

Data held by Shotread

Items you save become part of your Shotread workspace and follow the Shotread privacy policy and your workspace's settings. YouTube data is shown under the YouTube Terms of Service and Google's privacy policy. Extension keys expire after 90 days and can be revoked at any time in Shotread, Research, Browser extension.
