Everything a client's content cycle needs
Shotread is one workspace for a video and social agency's work: research, ideas, scripts, production, client review, publishing and reporting. Each part below is built; live platform connections switch on as each platform approves the app, and X posting runs on each customer's own X developer app.
See each step in the product tour, or what carries over from the tool you use today on switching to Shotread.
Research that feeds the next brief
Find competitors, outliers, formats, keywords, comments and sponsors for the niches your clients compete in. Every result can be saved, watched, compared, put on the calendar, turned into an idea or a brief, or added to a report.
- Competitor Video Autopsy: what a competitor's video did, scene by scene: hook, re-hooks, payoff, pacing and calls to action, each with the frame and the line said.
- Pattern Miner: what repeats across many videos of a channel.
- Client-vs-Competitor Delta: how your client's video compares with a competitor's.
Frame-accurate client review
Clients review where the work is, without a pile of loose notes.
- Comments pinned to frames, and drawings on the video.
- PDF and audio proofing alongside video.
- Approval steps with several approvers, including an optional legal or brand review.
- A feedback translator that turns vague notes into concrete edits while keeping the client's original words.
- Version Intelligence: what changed between two cuts, and what it likely does to viewers.
Browser editor
Edit by transcript and add captions in the browser, then export the edit to Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve formats to finish where your editors work.
Observed retention, aligned to the footage
The real audience retention curve of a published video, next to the actual shots, so a drop can be read against the moment it happened. It appears once the video is published on a connected channel. Correlation, not cause.
Publishing, inbox and insights
Schedule and publish to YouTube and the major social networks, answer comments and messages from one inbox, and read insights per client. Connections to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X are built and tested against stand-ins. Each one except X switches on when that platform approves the app; X posting runs on each customer's own X developer app and its paid X API access.
Creator campaigns
Run campaigns with creators, with tracked links and codes for each one.
Client portal and reports
Give each client a portal for reviews, approvals and reports. Reports show where every number comes from and how fresh it is.
Agency memory
What the agency learns about each client is kept as memory that cites its source and that your team can edit.
Agency operations
Projects, time, budgets, profitability and invoices sit next to the work, and automations run with waits and branches.
How AI runs are charged
Research works with AI off. Only drafting and analysis cost money: a paid run shows its estimate before it starts, checks your budget, and a run that fails is refunded automatically.
Questions
Is Shotread a YouTube tool?
No. Shotread is a workspace for agencies that make video and social content for their clients. YouTube is one of the networks it works with. Shotread is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Which networks does Shotread connect to?
YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and X. The connections are built and tested against stand-ins. Each one except X switches on when that platform approves the app; X posting runs on each customer's own X developer app and its paid X API access.
Can we check what the AI says?
Yes. Every AI finding cites the timestamp, frame, transcript line or metric behind it, with a confidence level. Performance analysis says correlation, not cause.
Does Shotread download videos?
No. Files you upload go from your browser straight to storage, and Shotread never downloads videos from platforms.
How do we get access?
Shotread is in private beta. Request access with your work email, and tick the design-partner box if your agency would like to join the pilot.
